Dr. Andy Kosseff Receives Public Health Award for Leadership on Falls Prevention Efforts
March 24, 2008
Congratulations to Andy Kosseff, MD, Chair of Falls Prevention Task Force and Physician Director for Quality Improvement, St. Mary's Hospital for his receipt of a Public Health Award for Leadership from Public Health Madison/Dane County.
Dr. Kosseff has used his leadership as a founding member of Madison Patient Safety Collaborative and as Physician Director of Quality Improvement at St. Mary's Hospital to fully engage Dane County’s medical community in collaborative efforts to reduce falls. A very busy man, Andy has, none-the-less, been a tireless advocate. He has contacted health care organization leaders at the highest level to solicit their active involvement. He has been first to recognize the contribution of the aging network (eg. senior centers/focal points and Area Agency on Aging of Dane County) and to be their champion. He has inspired Task Force members to elevate falls prevention as an organizational priority and to reach across sectors to collaborate.
Public Health Awards are given to community members who advance health and safety of area residents by Public Health Madison/Dane County in April each year. For more information and to download a nomination form, visit publichealthmdc.com.
