Safe Communities Sustaining Members
Safe Communities is a nonprofit coalition of nearly 300 organizations and individuals working to prevent injuries and SAVE LIVES. Safe Communities membership is open to individuals and organizations who work in injury prevention and safety education, or who are interested in making Madison neighborhoods and Dane County communities a safer place. You don’t need to pay a membership fee to join our coalition, but it sure helps! Financial and in-kind contributions are welcome and encouraged.
If you’d like to be part of Safe Communities, please let us know by emailing info@safercommunity.net.
Become a Sustaining Member
Working together, we are able to accomplish much more than working alone, and your sustaining support helps make this happen. Sustaining Membership levels range from becoming a "Friend" to becoming a "Lifesaver." Our annual Membership Breakfast each February features time for members to celebrate successes and plan for the coming year.
Membership levels include:
- Lifesaver (gift of $20,000 and above)
- Hero (gift of $10,000-$19,999)
- First Responder (gift of $5,000-$9,999)
- Good Samaritan (gift of $1,000-$4,999)
- Benefactor (gift of $500-$999)
- Patron (gift of $100-$499)
- Friend (gift of $35-$99)
We welcome new memberships at any time of the year. Contributors at the Good Samaritan level and above (called Sustaining Members) are recognized in Coalition brochures, newsletters, and on our website.
Your contribution makes these lifesaving activities possible:
- Slow Down Yard Sign Campaign: 75% of respondents in a random survey of Dane County residents reported slowing down while driving in areas where our Slow Down yard signs are posted. Your gift of $100 pays for 20 yards signs to reduce speeding in areas where children walk and play.
- Falls Prevention Initiative: Support our Falls Prevention Task Force, a collaboration of health care leaders and Dane County's aging network to reduce falls among older adults by 10% over three years. your gift of $250 helps bring falls prevention classes to 30 older adults in Dane County.
- Suicide Prevention Task Force Initiatives have trained over 500 people on how to help others survive a suicidal crisis. Your gift of $50 helps teach another 10 people how to save a life.
