Support Safe Communities
In recognition of the power and economies of collaboration, Safe Communities is a vehicle for representatives from a wide range of organizations to share information and join forces to save lives and prevent serious injuries.
Become a Member
Safe Communities is its members! Working together, we are able to accomplish much more than working alone. Membership levels range from becoming a "Friend" to becoming a "Lifesaver." Our annual Membership Breakfast each February features time for members to celebrate successes and plan for the coming year.
Membership levels include:
- Lifesaver (gift of $20,000 and above)
- Hero (gift of $10,000-$19,999)
- First Responder (gift of $5,000-$9,999)
- Good Samaritan (gift of $1,000-$4,999)
- Benefactor (gift of $500-$999)
- Patron (gift of $100-$499)
- Friend (gift of $35-$99)
We welcome new memberships at any time of the year. Contributors at the Good Samaritan level and above (called Sustaining Members) are recognized in Coalition brochures, newsletters, and on our website.
Your contribution makes these lifesaving activities possible:
- Slow Down Yard Sign Campaign: 75% of respondents in a random survey of Dane County residents reported slowing down while driving in areas where our Slow Down yard signs are posted. Your gift of $100 pays for 20 yards signs to reduce speeding in areas where children walk and play.
- Falls Prevention Initiative: Support our Falls Prevention Task Force, a collaboration of health care leaders and Dane County's aging network to reduce falls among older adults by 20% over three years. Your gift of $250 supports home safety checks for five Dane County older adults at risk of falling.
- Safety Town: Safety Town is a fun, interactive summer day camp - nestled in a miniature "town" - that teaches vital safety lessons to area pre-schoolers. All participating families answered "yes" when asked if Safety Town had enhanced their child's understanding of safety issues. One parent put it this way: "This was the best class I have ever signed my son up for. Safety Town is a must-do class for every child." Your gift of $400 provides four Safety Town scholarships to local pre-schoolers who would not otherwise be able to participate.
Become a Sponsor
Various opportunities exist to sponsor lifesaving collaborations in our community. Recognition for sponsorships ranges from your name on banners, t-shirts, posters and promotional materials to opportunities to speak at media events (depending on the project or campaign). All sponsors are recognized in our newsletter and on our website. For information about specific project sponsorships, please contact Cheryl Wittke, Coalition Director, at (608) 256-6713.
