Eric is a survivor of suicide. His son Brandon died Feb. 15, 2006. Since that time Eric has been involved in many efforts supporting suicide awareness and prevention. He is currently on the board of Directors for HOPES - Helping Others Prevent and Educate about Suicide; is a member of NAMI Dane County; is involved with SPAN USA - Suicide Prevention Action Network and AFSP - American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Eric was the recipient of the NAMI Wisconsin 2007 Wisconsin Community Education Award. He is a certified Q.P.R. trainer and a member of the Task Force on Suicide Prevention (Dane County).

William Greer, M.S., L.C.S.W., is the Executive Director of the Mental Health Center of Dane County, a private non-profit community mental health center providing mental health and substance abuse services to a diverse consumer population. He has 30 years experience as clinician and administrator. He has developed model programs that serve individuals across the life span with an emphasis upon cultural competence and consumer involvement.

John Humphries is the School Psychologist at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. His responsibilities at DPI include leadership in school-based suicide prevention and children’s mental health. John was appointed by Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle to the Wisconsin Council on Mental Health. John is also an appointed member of the Ethics Advisory Panel for the National Association of School Psychologists.

Michael M. Miller, MD, FASAM, FAPA is Medical Director of NewStart Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program at Meriter Hospital, and has held this position since 1989. He is board certified in general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry and is also certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) as a physician specialist in chemical dependence. He is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). Dr. Miller is an Associate Clinical Professorship in the Departments of Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, and Family Medicine of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.
